    Advocacy

Alzheimer's disease is a public health problem and the Alzheimer's Association has played an active role in ensuring that legislators on both the national and state levels pursue programs that will provide the assistance required by our families.

Each spring, the Eastern Tennessee Chapter sends representatives to talk with our legislators in Nashville. We also send representatives to the Alzheimer's National Public Policy Forum held in Washington, D.C.

ADVOCACY means, “giving voice.” You are invited to be a “voice” for the 23,000 individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their care partners in East Tennessee. While many have been silenced by this disease, their stories need to be told. You can help--become an advocate and get involved!

Take your voice to Nashville with us! You can be part of a group with a team leader who will arrange appointments and guide you to our legislators’ offices. Our next Legislative Day is set for Tuesday, April 8. Participants will travel to Nashville on a chartered bus. Lunch will be provided.

Call the Alzheimer's Association at (865) 544-6288 for information on how you can be a part of Legislative Day.
